Brief history of Ladakh
Ladakh was a region of the state of Jammu & Kashmir, now it has become a Union Territory on 31st October 2019. The UT Ladakh is bounded on south by Himachal Pradesh, west by Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, on the North by China and on the east by Tibet. Ladakh is most famous for breathtaking landscapes, the crystal-clear skies, the highest mountain passes, thrilling adventure activities, Buddhist Monasteries and festival. UT of Ladakh is scattered on an area of 59146 Sq. Kms (approx.) with a population of 2,74,289 (as per 2011 Census).
